Firmware availability varies by device. This archive contains verified source records and may not include every historical release.

Where the data comes from

AppleDB provides device records, release history, compatibility maps, source URLs and available hashes. Each imported record retains its URL, retrieval time and content fingerprint. Its metadata is MIT licensed, copyright 2022 emiyl. Upstream credits include hack-different/apple-knowledge, apple-data and The Apple Wiki; see the original repository for their contributions.

IPSW.me provides independent third-party observations for exact restore files and hardware identifiers. A check timestamp is the retrieval time of that response, not a direct Apple TSS test. Observations expire to Unknown. The API’s fair-use limits apply; a public endpoint is not a blanket data redistribution license.

Channels and coverage

Beta is not automatically Developer Beta or Public Beta. We retain the general Beta label when the source does not identify the audience. One build can have multiple channel labels. The initial bootstrap selects real releases across supported OS families; full history imports can be run separately. Missing records indicate incomplete coverage, not that firmware does not exist.

Downloads and installation

Binary links are restricted to reviewed, exact public Apple CDN hosts over HTTPS. A source-reported active link is distinct from an HTTP HEAD check. Unverified links are labeled. Availability, signing, hardware compatibility and downgrade feasibility are different facts. Protected Developer downloads are not relayed or bypassed.
